Nurburgring

Just got a phonecall from Charlie with a little status report.

His best time so far is 7.36 BTG and today he was the fastest of all the ones in the Grand Turismo Nurburgring event. He said the car is handling really great and he his really satisfied with the handling and the Nurburgring setup.

Tomorrow(Wednesday) is a little event day and they are going to test the new mclaren mp4-12c and take a helicopter ride over Nurburgring, and the GP track is open aswell.

Patrik with the Öhlins equipped Porsche 996 GT2 did a 7,38 BTG so i think it’s full on war between Charlie and Patrik ;)

Next attack on the Nordschleife will be on Thursday, good luck to both of you.

Rounding up part 4 with a bunch of photos.

Well it has been a busy couple of weeks, thats why i haven’t post that mutch on the blog.

If you follow my blog, you might remember this little roadtrip i took with my friend Charlie 5 month ago. Well we have a long winter and about a month ago it was time to start putting on all the goodies that Charlie had bought for the car and start prepping the ACR for the upcoming Grand Turismo Nurburgring 2012 that starts on monday.

On the to do list was
: Getting the car road legal witch with this car in sweden means get rid of the wing, and switch to H4 lightbulbs in the xenon headlights. I hate the Swedish inspection rules…..
: BBG ACR-X headers
: ACR-X Race Mufflers
: ACR-X clutch
: BBG Flywheel
: Do a corner weight
: Do a wheel alignment setup for Nurburgring
: Change brakepads
: Change breakfluid
: And a lot of small stuff like mounting the laptimer that comes with the car and so on.

It’s was pretty close but the car is DONE! and now the car is loaded on the trailer and Charlie and his girlfriend are on the way to the Nordschleife.

And a couple of pictures.

Mounting the BBG Headers and the Borla exhaust.

The wheel alignment.

Corner weight(not the end result)

DONE!

Loaded and almost ready to go.

Charlie has promised me some nice update pictures next week so stay tuned.
And i know i have a couple of german followers and if any of you are heading to Nurburgring next week, snap some shots of Charlies car and send them to me please.

keep a lookout for my buddy patrik’s Porsche 996 GT2 and his co driver Erik as well.

Bonus video from last years GTN when charlie had his Ford Focus RS500.

Bye bye GT-R

Haha This dude is my new hero? If i pulls it off.. =)

When i saw this topic on Jalopnik.com i just smiled and sayd to my self why not =)

“Man Wants To Build Exact Copy Of Nürburgring… In Nevada
Since the greater Las Vegas area only has a copy of Paris, New York, Venice, and alien-occupied ancient Egypt, it’s still a good ways away from having a copy of all of Earth’s good stuff. Luckily, Bruton Smith, CEO of Speedway Motorsports, is working to fix that, starting with a copy of the Nürburgring.”

“How did he get into his seat with those beachball sized testicles between his legs?” – 67Stallion

Well my buddy Charlie bought him self a early Chrismas gift, a brand new 2009 Dodge Viper ACR Hardcore Edition. The car arrived to Sweden yesterday and today me and charlie took a roadtrip down to Gothenburg to get the car. We just got home and i’m not really tired, i always get tired on roadtrips but not this time. Monster energy drink is god for you =)

When we got to the shipping company the first thing we saw, was the big ass yellow rear wing on the ACR.

Here is some Iphone pics.

Congrats Charlie to Swedens first ACR Hardcore Edition ♥ :)

15 minutes later it was loaded and we headed home.

You all remember this little video, right?

I think the Swedish dude in the GTR is doing a great job behind the wheel.

“The Gumpert Apollo S driven by Formula 1 driver Adrian Sutil. 750bhp running slicks
The Manthey Racing Porsche 997 Turbo, unknown power running slicks.
The GT-R R35 runing on R888 and almost no tire wear left at the fronts, 95kgs passenger and brake pads at the rear was screaming ( nothing left )
He says the GT-R had pretty minor modifications. COBB, Exhaust, and running on 100 octane fuel. Most people can only dream of slinging a car around Nurburgring. Then to do it this well is amazing.

Only running COBB with 100 Octane map and Meisterschaft GT SUS with Harman Motive MP.

This was my 4th day at the Ring so the tires was not that good anymore, 3 hours before this lap I had a lap vs Sabine Schmitz and that lap was with
better tires and no passenger which resulted in a 10 seconds faster lap. Adrian Crashed a Apollo Gumpert S 30 minutes later…”
